Description

Join a unique joint venture between a leading Japanese securities firm and a global investment bank as a Risk Operations Manager in Tokyo.

This role combines risk reporting, regulatory compliance, and data-driven process improvement, offering the opportunity to enhance operational efficiency through automation and analytics. You will work closely with senior stakeholders while contributing to cross-functional projects in a fast-growing, global environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Drive process automation and operational improvement using tools such as AI, VBA, SQL, Python, or R
• Manage and deliver risk reporting (daily to quarterly) and executive dashboards
• Ensure timely and accurate regulatory reporting and disclosures, working with auditors and compliance teams
• Collaborate across departments to support strategic initiatives and transformation projects
• Analyse data to improve workflows and strengthen operational risk frameworks

Required Skills and Qualifications Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in risk operations, market risk, or credit risk within financial services
• Strong experience with Excel, VBA, SQL, and relational databases
• Hands-on experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation
• Degree in finance, computer science, mathematics, or a related field

Soft Skills:

• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work across teams and manage multiple stakeholders
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Language Requirements:

• English: Fluent
• Japanese: Fluent

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with tools such as SharePoint, Power Automate, or AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude)
• Experience in cross-functional or transformation projects
