Overview
The Private Banking Relationship Manager serves as a strategic relationship leader responsible for delivering sophisticated financial solutions and cultivating long-term partnerships with high-net-worth members. This role manages a significant portfolio of affluent relationships, acting as a trusted advisor who understands each member's complex financial goals. Additionally, providing tailored strategies through proactive collaboration with internal partners and contributing to initiatives that enhance private banking programs and member experience. This position plays a key role in expanding private banking relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and enhancing the overall member experience through proactive engagement, financial insight, and personalized service.

Salary range for this position is $124,938.84 - $146,067.74 with a progressive benefit package.
Responsibilities

Serves as the primary relationship officer and trusted advisor for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth members, developing deep relationships based on trust, financial expertise, and personalized service.
Conducts comprehensive financial discovery to understand members' long-term financial objectives, risk tolerance, and life goals.
Designs and delivers customized financial strategies that integrate investment management, lending solutions, insurance planning, and estate considerations.
Provides proactive financial guidance and ongoing portfolio reviews to ensure alignment with members' evolving financial needs.
Manages and grows a substantial portfolio of high-net-worth relationships, focusing on long-term retention, asset growth, and relationship expansion.
Identifies and pursues opportunities to deepen member relationships through strategic cross-selling of all products and services including lending, treasury management, and insurance solutions.
Develops and executes relationship management plans to increase wallet share and enhance the value delivered to members.
Generates new business through referrals, networking, community engagement, and partnerships with internal lines of business.
Partners closely with internal specialists including wealth management advisors, mortgage and commercial lenders, trust officers, and insurance professionals to deliver integrated solutions.
Coordinates the delivery of complex financial services to ensure a seamless and elevated private banking experience.
Builds strong relationships across business units to support collaborative sales strategies and comprehensive member service.
Contributes to the development and enhancement of private banking programs, services, and client experience initiatives.
Provides insights and feedback to leadership on emerging member needs, competitive market trends, and potential product enhancements.
Participates in strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the credit union's private banking and wealth management capabilities.
Ensures adherence to all regulatory requirements, credit union policies, and risk management standards related to private banking activities.
Evaluates financial information and member risk profiles to recommend appropriate financial strategies and credit solutions.
- Maintains accurate documentation and compliance with internal controls and industry regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Master's degree (MBA or similar advanced degree) preferred
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, or financial services, with demonstrated success managing affluent client relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise in high-net-worth relationship management and consultative financial advisory.
- Proven success in business development, portfolio growth, and client retention.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex financial data and develop strategic recommendations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of investment products, insurance strategies, lending solutions, and wealth planning concepts.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with affluent clients.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex client relationships simultaneously.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
- Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and a client-first philosophy.
- Maintains a positive attitude and professional presence.
- Must be bondable.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the SVP Wealth & Premier Banking.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is not responsible for the supervision of others.
