Our client is an established international financial services group with a strong global presence across banking, institutional and investment services. The organisation supports financial institutions, asset managers, investment funds and institutional investors through a broad range of banking and asset servicing solutions.

As part of its continued expansion in Asia, the group is establishing a new Singapore branch and building out its local governance, regulatory compliance and financial crime capabilities. This is an opportunity to join the business at an early stage and play an important role in developing the Singapore platform and its regulatory framework.

Description

• Act as the local Head of Compliance and MLRO, overseeing regulatory compliance, AML/CFT and financial crime matters for the Singapore branch.
• Establish and maintain the local compliance framework, risk assessments, monitoring programmes and governance processes.
• Lead engagement with MAS, including regulatory enquiries, inspections, surveys, audits and supervisory reviews.
• Advise senior management on regulatory developments, new products, compliance risks and financial crime matters.
• Develop local policies and controls while working closely with regional and global Compliance teams to support the Singapore business build-out.

Profile

• Minimum 15 years of relevant Compliance experience within banking.
• Prior experience as a Head of Compliance, MLRO, Deputy MLRO or senior Compliance professional with meaningful responsibility for a Singapore regulated business or branch.
• Strong knowledge of Singapore regulatory requirements, with direct experience engaging regulators on regulatory matters, inspections or supervisory reviews.
• Proven ability to operate independently in a hands-on environment, develop compliance frameworks and work effectively with senior local, regional and global stakeholders.
