Our client is seeking an experienced AML / CDD Specialist at Manager level to join our Private Banking division in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust client due diligence (CDD) processes, supporting regulatory compliance, and managing financial crime risks across high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients.
Job Description
- Review and approve CDD / KYC documentation for new client onboarding and periodic reviews, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform enhanced due diligence (EDD) on high-risk clients, including PEPs, complex structures, and offshore entities.
- Assess and validate source of wealth (SOW) and source of funds (SOF).
- Identify and assess AML risks associated with clients and transactions, providing recommendations and escalation where necessary.
- Support investigations and remediation of AML-related issues.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of AML/CDD policies, procedures, and controls.
- Participate in audits, regulatory reviews, and internal control testing exercises.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in AML/CDD/KYC within private banking or wealth management.
- Solid understanding of AML regulations in Hong Kong, including HKMA guidelines and FATF standards.
- Experience handling HNW/UHNW client profiles and complex ownership structures.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent are highly preferred.
