About the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago

The Bank is one of the 12 regional Federal Home Loan Banks, whose mission is to promote housing finance throughout America, by providing sound and economical financing to member financial institutions. The Bank works with several member commercial banks, savings institutions, credit unions and insurance companies in Illinois and Wisconsin. With about $68 billion in assets, the Bank offers a variety of products to finance home mortgage portfolios and provides significant funding for affordable housing and community development activities.
