Job SummaryWith overall responsibility for J.P. Morgan Global Corporate Bank (GCB) in South Africa & Sub-Saharan Africa (SA & SSA), we are looking for an exceptional individual with the ability to really grow our footprint and ensure we continue to deliver a best-in-class service on behalf of our clients.
Reporting into our CEEMEA Head of Global Corporate Banking and working closely with South Africa senior leadership, you will be instrumental in developing and executing on our client strategy in SA & SSA. This will be accomplished by identifying the strategic clients & their banking requirements and partnering with colleagues from Global Investment Banking (GIB), Payments and Markets to support the long term strategic growth of GCB clients across the region.
Job Responsibilities
- Managing a team that cover Local Corporates, Financial Institution clients and Public Sector institutions
- Serve as a focal point of contact within JPMorgan for the client C-suite, where appropriate and treasurer and other senior managers
- Build and develop Regional Treasurer level coverage of Corporate Bank selected clients in SA & SSA
- Initiate/originate and maintain banking relationships across flow and episodic products
- Identify and develop account strategy together with various products specialists and relevant Client Executive
- Increasing cross selling opportunities
- Partner actively and effectively with businesses, sector heads, Client Executives and Senior Country Officers on client coverage and onboarding
- Set the growth strategy for Global Corporate Banking across SA & SSA
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Partnership mindset and strong collaboration approach to coordinate and work closely with the various product and stakeholder groups.
- Strong client relationship manager with proven ability to build and develop client relationships, win new business, close transactions and develop networks, both internally and externally.
- Prior knowledge & experience in some or all of Loans & Capital Markets, Global Markets products such as FX, commodities & derivatives as well as transaction banking and Securities Services.
- Proven experience in M&A/ECM and DCM in order to engage strategically at c-suite level
- Understanding of Bank regulations and policies in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa
- Experienced people manager with a proven track record of managing cross cultural environments.
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English as a working language.
- Ability to exercise commercial acumen and judgment.
- Demonstrate regional and industry specific credit and ESG skills.
- Demonstrated credit knowledge & strong understanding of Global Markets, IB & Payments products
- Strong background in strategic planning and execution
