DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL PLANNING AND ANALYSIS:
Small but growing Independent Investment Adviser in the Washington DC area seeks to create a new service offering in Financial Planning. This new role requires demonstrable skills in Financial Planning, New Business Generation, Client Service and Firm Operations. The goal of this position is to build out a Financial Planning platform collaborating closely with the firm’s President that will support our current client’s needs and help achieve our future growth objectives. Ideally, candidates should have a minimum of 7 to10 years or more professional experience and a record of at least 3 years’ recognizable advancement with a single earlier or current employer.
Requirements
Responsibilities will include:
Provide financial planning and investment advisory services.
Collaborate closely with the firm’s Portfolio Managers about Investment Strategy
Develop and execute retirement planning.
Implement risk management and tax planning strategies.
Coordinate estate planning with outside counsel.
Manage client relationships.
Identify and cultivate new clients.
Develop and grow a book of business.
Open, transfer, and manage client accounts.
Prepare the firm’s financial policy and procedure documentation.
Identify and implement the internal systems and tools needed to be successful.
Generate and process paper and electronic documents.
Remain current on trends, legislative developments, planning opportunities and proactively apply them.
Maintain a personal commitment to continuing education for professional development and growth.
Position Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or business-related field with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of Financial Planning experience.
Strong critical thinking skills and common sense driven together with clear verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask and manage deadlines.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and other office software technologies.
CFP required and CFA, CPA or MBA are highly valued.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate the highest level of client service, ethics and integrity.
