- DEALERSHIP ACCOUNTANT
Description
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Reconcile bank statements, floorplan statements, and manufacturer schedules.
Process and review deals, ensuring accuracy and compliance with dealership and manufacturer requirements.
Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with yearend audits.
Maintain and reconcile schedules for inventory, warranties, incentives, and other dealership accounts.
Monitor cash flow, deposits, and internal controls.
Support payroll processing and benefits administration as needed.
Collaborate with department managers to ensure accurate reporting and timely issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with federal, provincial and dealership accounting policies.
Qualifications
Previous accounting experience in an automotive dealership required.
Strong understanding of dealership accounting systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, PBS, etc.).
Proficiency in Excel and general accounting software.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
