Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of actuarial modeling and calculation methodologies, including deterministic and stochastic approaches to liability valuation, capital calculation, investment risk, ALM, and/or SAA applications
- Fluency in both English and Japanese with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively
- Knowledge of the insurance and/or asset management industries gained through work experience (e.g., within an insurance company or consulting firm) or formal qualifications such as Actuarial or CFA certification
- Experience with Moody's Scenario Generator or similar actuarial and financial modelling tools is advantageous
- Ability to solve problems efficiently, innovate, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
- Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as financial mathematics, mathematics, or physics
As a member of the APAC Insurance team, you will act as a key point of contact for customers, developing deep, trusted relationships based on your expertise and customer focus, supporting both new sales and existing customers to help continue to drive our growth in the region. Your primary focus will be our scenario modelling capabilities and related applications (regulatory and economic capital and asset liability management) offering an exciting opportunity to become a recognized expert in these solutions within Asia.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for customers in Japan, fostering deep, long-term relationships through exceptional service and expertise
- Provide expert support to existing users of Moody's actuarial products to maximize their value from the product suite - with a focus on applications to asset liability management, strategic asset allocation, and risk neutral valuation of liabilities
- Partner with sales teams as a subject matter expert, presenting product capabilities, conducting demonstrations and proofs of concept, and addressing customer-specific modelling challenges to build confidence in Moody's solutions
- Delivering service projects to clients, assisting them in applying Moody's solutions to practical insurance risk and financial modelling challenges
- Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams (Sales, Product Management, Research, etc.), ensuring effective communication, managing relationships, and driving appropriate actions to address customer needs
