About the Role:
Our client, a well-established retail company in the Tampa Bay area, is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join their team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, supporting month-end close processes, and contributing to the organization's financial success.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Perform account reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
Support month-end and year-end close processes.
Maintain and monitor the general ledger for accuracy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and validate financial data.
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting tasks.
Handle sales tax filings, audits, and compliance-related activities.
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a retail or consumer goods environment.
Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems is required.
Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to meet deadlines.
